Nutrition - Enhancing the Everyday

I have been a chef for more than 30 years. I have created recipes for everything from souffles to banana cake. In my mid 30s I was diagnosed with asthma, in my 40s, with hypertension, which led to high cholesterol, being a food person, this led me to the kitchen, to try to cook my way healthy, and to university, to try to learn my way healthy. I am now very nearly finished a Bachelor of Nutrition degree and it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Before I began I thought I had a pretty good knowledge about food and health and all of the stuff. Now I know that I know little, but I am learning, more every day. For me, this has evolved into the concept of using nutrition to enhance the everyday. Very few of us will ever eat a diet that is completely clean, and what is that diet anyway? What is good for one may not be good for another, the food pyramid or plate is a guide that works for some. Where nutrition is concerned, a one size fits all approach does not work for any of us. We must instead adopt a one size fits one approach. And you are the one. So come walk with me and we will explore the concept of Enhancing the Everyday, introducing nutrition into amazing food. Welcome to Michelle's Kitchen, where Nutritious meets Delicious.
